Wendi’s Top Priorities

Traffic congestion is the result of years of poor planning. Sparks cannot continue

approving growth without first addressing infrastructure.

Wendi will reduce congestion by prioritizing roads and responsible development. She

opposes the proposed connector as it is currently designed because Sparks deserves

solutions that truly improve mobility — not create new problems.

Sparks must live within its means.

Wendi will balance the city budget through stronger management, accountability, and

the smart application of modern technology to reduce waste and increase efficiency.

She firmly opposes new fees and property tax increases. Families and local

businesses cannot afford more government burden.

Our communities are not bargaining chips.

Wendi opposes replacing the Red Hawk Lakes golf course with high-density housing.

That proposal is unfair to current residents and undermines commitments made to

homeowners.

Growth must be thoughtful, strategic, and aligned with infrastructure capacity — not

driven by short-term revenue goals.

Public safety is non-negotiable.

Wendi will improve and increase frontline police and fire positions to ensure Sparks

remains one of the safest cities in Nevada.

She opposes closing Fire Station #5. Safety should never be compromised.

Sparks should focus on filling vacant commercial space and strengthening existing

infrastructure before expanding outward.

Wendi opposes reckless, growth-for-growth’s-sake development that strains roads,

utilities, and neighborhoods. Economic growth should enhance quality of life — not

diminish it.

Sparks is at a crossroads.

We can continue down the path of reactive decisions and rising frustration — or we

can choose disciplined, accountable leadership that plans ahead and puts residents

first.
