Wendi Rawson is a lifelong Nevadan, proud Sparks resident, and passionate small business owner with deep roots in her community.
Born in Fallon and raised in Sparks, she graduated from Reed High School before earning her Associate’s Degree in Computer Business Management.
For nearly two decades, Wendi built a career in the legal field before stepping into entrepreneurship. In 2019, she and her husband, Mike, opened Engine 8 Urban Winery—the first winery in Sparks. Inspired by the city’s history, they named it after the retired steam engine displayed downtown.
Since then, Engine 8 has become more than a business; it’s a gathering place that reflects Wendi’s passion for revitalizing Sparks and supporting local families and small businesses.
Wendi’s heart for service has guided her every step. Since giving her life to the Lord in 2008, she has poured her energy into the Sparks community—serving on the board of Centennial Little League, coaching youth sports, and representing Ward 4 on the Sparks Citizens Advisory Committee.
She and Mike also helped grow their church’s food pantry, which continues to feed families today.
Now, as a candidate for Mayor, Wendi is ready to bring her experience, leadership, and passion to City Hall.
She knows what it takes to run a business, strengthen a community, and make Sparks a place where families and businesses can thrive for generations.
